Yes, Yes, and No.

Yes: Macarons. there is no inkling doubt that i adore love all things French. However, lately i've been finding myself irisistably drawn to macarons. Macarons are delightful little deserts made with an almond base. With a thin meringue crust and chewy middle, it sandwiches cream (usually ganche because we all know that i'm quite the chocolate fiend) and taste like the effing piece of awesome French-ness it is. This dainty French sandwich cookie is angelically delightful to taste and devilishly hellish to master; however, I’m not one to give up easy. so after dozen eggs and god knows how many pounds of almond flour I finally managed to master them-and gosh do they taste good.

Yes: her full name is Virginia Wigmore-now shorthened to 'Gin'. She is from New Zealand. Her claim to fame is her beautiful and haunting voice, which is a throwback to the late and great Amy Whinehouse. I must admit I was smitten after I heard her crooning on 90201. My itunes shows that I’ve listen to Saturday Smile (found here) about 48 times, but i digress. Its beautiful in a haunting way. Like a forbidden love like the one between the gorgeous Ryan Gosling and Rachel Mcadams in The Notebook or something tragic like Jack and Roses in Titanic. Check her out. She is amazing.

No: Carey Mulligan's dress at the 2012 Met Gala. I've grown quite fond of the British actress, however her poor choice for this years Met Gala left me biting my lip. Not in the oh-god-that’s-hot way, but rather in the oh-my-lord-that’s-unflattering. The metallic and highly reflective Prada dress resembled a robotic beehive. It reflected everything and anything that was within two feet of Carey Mulligan. Although she did donate it to charity but who can blame her? Who would want that thing in their closet? I kid. They dress is a fine peice of art however I think that I would look far better in a window of a couture house then on a human being.

Thoughts on Gossip Girl and the Ditch it’s Headed Towards

I think I was middle school when I first stumbled across gossip girl book series. They were nothing like the usual literature I was used to (Newberry medal books and such). Gossip Girl was about sex, drinking, secrecy and rich playboys-all the things that seem deliciously scandalous to a 14 year old girl. I devoured all of them by the time that summer ended and kept myself updated with new book releases. So you can only imagine my excitement when I heard Josh Schwartz was going to produce a Gossip Girl TV show.

Seasons 1, 2 and even 3 were awesome. I loved the drama, admired Blair Waldorf’s style and drooled over Dan Humphrey’s jaw line. However recently it’s started to dwindle down to the equivalent of a soap opera. The same characters are sleeping with each other, people who should be dead are coming back to life and all of a sudden Lily’s problems (the mother) have become a main part of the plot. Since when did Gossip Girl care about rich middle-aged women who had been divorced 3 times?

I just hope the writers are able to make this finale spectacular or else I’ll probably stop watching. RIP my love for gossip girl

What I've Been Snacking On

Lately I've been finding myself loving strawberries and San Pellegrino. They are the perfect midday snack. I like eating the strawberries with a dash of salt. It tastes divine-although someone told me that I must be crazy because strawberries only taste good with cream. Also its very healthy. I tend to lose and gain weight rather quickly, and during the summer i always gain weight. At the moment I'm around 104lbs at 5'5" and plan on staying that way till fall so that I can fit into the perfect fall cape.

Yes, Yes, and No.

Yes: summer. A no-worry, kick back season which often results in weight gain and utter laziness for me. But I’m not complaining. After a tiresome year at university of Toronto I’m ready for a break. Going to do a lot of leisure reading, writing and probably head down to my uncle’s ranch for a few weeks. Also go longboarding near the beach.

Yes: Anna Dello Russo to collaborate with H&M for October 2012 collection. I’m quite exited for this because I really like her style. The teal and gold are reminiscent of a bohemian Moroccan girl for the late 60’s. if anything, I’ll definitely buy the gold clutch with the teal stone. Its gorgeous. Get the rest of the details here.

No: North Carolina Pastor who said its okay to beat the “gay” out of your child. Although he did try to defend himself by saying that he would never encourage childbearing i still find it hard to comprehend his argument. His blatant behavior somewhat disgusted me. I understand different people have different views on certain matters due to religion, but abuse is one thing that should never be encouraged-even as a joke

what happened on May 21st, 2011.

I woke up on May 21st around 6ish (late I know. Had a late night, what can I say) and instantly looked out my window. I don't know what I was expecting. Zombies roaming the street, aliens abducting innocent people, or perhaps Jesus himself. However, there was nothing. Cars zipped by; birds sang their lovely yet annoying songs, and the sun beat down up on us.

And then i lay back down in bed and grabbed my iPhone. I scanned through CNN, Yahoo, and the New York Times for breaking news alerting us of the worlds end. But there was nothing. No apocalypse. no return of Jesus. Definitely no news of destructive earthquakes. Although there was a small volcanic eruption in Iceland, it was not as big as Harold Camping had predicted. Mountain Eyjafjallajokull (yes, that’s its name) was simply a fart on face of earth. Update about the sexual terminator-i mean mr. Schwarzenegger's life and his love child was the only news people were mentioning.

To be honest, when Harold Camping said the world was going to end on May 21st, i was a bit skeptical. At the same time i was scared. I instantly thought of all the things i hadn’t done. i still hadn't gone sky-diving. i hadn’t gotten the chance to see my best friends baby girl. And most importantly, i hadn't had my 15 minutes of fame. It was like tug of war. One part of me did not want to believe it, while the other part was scared. i guess that’s human nature. We are naturally scared of chaos, disasters and death. The vulnerability of a human life never comes up until something bad happens. Just like death. We don’t realize how final it is until we are standing on its door steps.

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

The good.
I was surprised to see that at this years Oscars, there weren't a lot of mishaps. Every year there is always a handful of stars who daringly step out of thier fashionable zones only to appear looking akward in the spotlight. Surprisingly, this year most starlets dressed to the nines. For example, Sarah Jessica Parker. I loved her gorgeous yellow Chanel couture gown. It was utterly fashionable and glamorous. Just loved it.

The bad.
That boy. If you are on polyvore, or have me as a friend on facebook you might have seen my rambling about a guy. The thing is, he's cute and smart AND a player. Ugh. It's a delicious combo and I can't help myself. Well he's being all hot and cold. God help me.

The ugly.
One word. Weather!! Ugh, Houston bipolar weather strikes again. Just when I was about to pack away my wool coats and cashmere sweaters, and pull out my summer dresses, it's freezing all over again. I have no picture for this.

Mar.20.2010

I know I have been MIA for a while but I have legible excuses for my absense.
1) my iPhone broke. I depend on my iPhone like one depends on Coffee. One needs it to fuel thier life.
2) this semster has been more then hectic. I have been so busy with paperwork I have had no time for my life.
3) i was too busy chasing that adorable boy. Dont ask.

But now I am back so let the blogging begin. Last week I was really happy because the weather was finally looking up. But today I woke up to a grey and angry sky. The weather can literlly mess up my mood. And then I was on polyvore making a set and I saw this utterly gorgeous picture of the streets of New York and I just wanted to cry. I love spring time in New York. The flowers start blooming and everyone packs thier coats up and stuffs em at the back of thier closet. And then emerges the beautiful wardrobe of the fashion fanatics. Ahhh the perkys of New York.
